What do the Dalai Lama, Seth MacFarlane and Jesse Sullivan Have in Common?

So I haven’t officially attending a college reunion yet, but I’d imagine that very few people would be able to say that they have changed the world since the days of dollar shots at Humphrey’s. However, Jesse Sullivan, a fellow Saint Louis University alum, will certainly have bragging rights when the class of 2008 reunites back in The Lou.

At the ripe old age of 25, Jesse has already founded Live OneWorld, an organization that promotes global solidarity and fosters leaders to live for Global Social Justice. Since the disastrous Haitian earthquake a few weeks back, he’s been “living on the streets of D.C. in a tent trying to kick off a Live for Haiti Campaign to increase solidarity with the Haitian people and help bring them emergency shelter.”

To document his journey, he’s started a blog, Live For Hati, which has helped him garner a spot on the list of CNN’s “Most Intriguing People of the Day” alongside the Seth MacFarlane, the Dalai Lama, Joe the Plumber and Carly Simon.

Not only am I pleased to help Jesse spread his message, but I’d like to point out his excellent use of social media to get the word out. He’s taken a very simple, specific message and maintained a consistent flow of information, resources and personal experience through a variety of conduits including Twitter, YouTube, Facebook and his blog.
